Panel and service upgrades in Derby and the Southtowns
A lot of houses around here still run on 100 amps, a fuse box, or a panel that was full twenty years ago. I swap them out, pull the permit, line up the utility and walk the inspector through it.

What I handle
- 100 to 200 amp service upgrades
- Fuse box and old panel replacement
- Subpanels for garages, workshops and finished basements
- Feeder upgrades when the old line is undersized
- Splitting overloaded circuits onto new breakers
- Permit, utility disconnect and reconnect, and inspection
When to call
- Breakers that trip when the microwave and the space heater run together
- A fuse box, or a panel with no open slots left
- You are adding an EV charger, a heat pump, central air or a hot tub
- Scorch marks, buzzing, or a panel that feels warm
- An insurance company or home inspector flagged the panel

Fantastic experience with Chuck and his guys. Had a full service replacement from the outdoor drop line, to the outdoor meter box with a new outside service disconnect and grounding, all wired into a new circuit breaker in the garage. He also swapped out the basement subpanel and undersized feeder line at the same time, both done in several hours and for less than what T-Mark was going to charge for JUST the outside work/garage panel. Long story short, I’ll be going to Chuck any time I need some quality electrical work. No gimmicks, no flash, just solid work.
Chuck is truly a gift. I’m used to being completely taken for a ride every time I have to call an electrician, especially during emergencies. I was surprised (in a good way) by the level of service. Chuck is honest, straight to the point, and genuinely cares about what he does. He was able to help me get out of an electrical fix and was timely, communicative, and fair. It’s very rare to find an electrician of this caliber!
Chuck provided exceptional service above and beyond what I was hoping for. I needed a last minute installation for an outlet to run my newly purchased home generator. Chuck went out of his way to have the installation done within hours of me calling. Since I was leaving for an extended work trip soon, he then took the time to walk my wife through the process of running the generator for the house in case I wasn’t home. Great service, very knowledgeable and at a fair price. Would highly recommend.
Called CFW Electric LLC for breaker box, meter housing, and frayed wire replacement after NYSEG visit post-power outage. Charles Wegrzyn immediately called back, negotiated a quote based on a description and pictures. He dropped everything, arriving with his crew, and took care of the installation immediately after contacting NYSEG and set up the inspection process to follow. Great work ethic, knowledgeable, and personable. I would definitely use this company again without hesitation. My thanks to Chuck for being the take-charge expert I was looking for.
Questions people ask
- Do you pull the permit?
- Yes. I file it, schedule the inspection and coordinate the disconnect and reconnect with the utility. You do not have to make those calls.
- How long is the power off?
- Most swaps are done in a day. I will tell you the window before we start so you can plan around it.
- Should I send a photo first?
- Yes. A photo of the panel with the door open and one of the meter outside shows me what you have before I come out.
